The welcome screen and sign-in
The welcome screen is fully branded, so the first impression of the venue’s Wi-Fi reinforces the brand, and it can double as a live marketing surface.
When you'd use it
When you want sign-in to be fast and on-brand, and when you want that first screen to double as a live marketing surface, promoting an offer, a short survey or a loyalty sign-up at the point of connection.
How it behaves
When a new device joins the network the welcome screen is served in place of the first web request. The page carries the venue’s logo, colours, fonts, imagery and copy, so the first impression of the venue’s Wi-Fi reinforces the brand rather than showing a generic router page, and the guest is online in seconds after submitting minimal details.
Guests sign in with a short form of the fields the venue chooses, and on an iPhone they can sign in with Apple in one tap. A phone number can be verified with a texted code where that is switched on, and an access code can gate the network. Custom questions capture anything specific to the venue.
The screen can also carry promotional blocks: a rotating offer, a short survey question, or a loyalty sign-up prompt. Interactions are recorded against the sign-in, so you can see which messages convert. After sign-in the guest can be sent to a welcome message and a redirect the venue chooses.

Good to know
Interactions with promotions and surveys are tracked alongside the sign-in and flow into reporting.
Capturing the opt-in up front, as the guest connects, is why sign-in opt-in tends to run higher than a bolt-on capture page.
The screen reads properly on a phone, which is where most guests connect.
